Pure, unadulterated Westerns like True Grit have a very deserved place in the world of film. The Coen Bros nailed it again with a tough, dramatic, funny and heroic film; something so beautifully photographed and scripted. And although Jeff Bridges may be my old-man crush, I’m not being biased on this one. This was yet another reminder as to why films are sometimes so darn important to me as ephemeral entertainment — two hours of harmless escapism and a feast for the eyes. And yep, I’m talking a real Jeff-feast. Aroooorrr.
